This is a reissue of Mesrine’s 2001 CD on Dead Cirkus and Murder Records but the track list is rearranged and there is some material that wasn’t on the CD (I think). I came to this fresh and am pretty sold after a few spins. Raw, old-school grindcore reminiscent of the golden days of Carcass or Extreme Noise Terror. I’d be surprised if anyone into metal was repelled by this. It’s really solid. I fucking love that these boys break out the d-beat now and again. Also, an enormous thumbs-up for not throwing shitty movie quotes at the start of every track like so many grind bands seem to do these days – the one or two clips here fit in pretty well and don’t make the record lose momentum. This really is no nonsense, old school grind for grind fans. Buy this. No posers.
