Telescopes at the ready folks, because this fourth effort from Astrosoniq sees them spiralling so far up into the stratosphere that soon enough you’ll barely be able to see even a glimmer of ’em. A hazy-as-fuck space rock ritual, ‘Quadrant’ somehow still manages to keep a heavy-lidded eye on the ball for long enough to ensure that things are plenty varied, from 70s Dr Who special effects freak-outs to straight-ahead Sabbath crunch and everything inbetween. True enough, things don’t always work (see the really rather rank ‘Cloud Of Decay’ for clear proof) and the thing perhaps goes on a little too long for its good or ours, but if you’ve got a Hawkwind / early Monster Magnet itch that needs scratching and a lazy hour to spare then you could surely do a helluvva lot worse.
