United Nations - Never Mind The Bombings, Here's Your Six Figures - 7

Labels: Deathwish
Review by: Jacque Read

Here’s Your Six Figures is the new offering from the somewhat mysterious band, United Nations. Being a
fan of the band already I’ve been very eager to hear some new material since their full length debut in
2008 and listening now, I’m really not disappointed. Four songs on this EP and each one is as vicious as
the other keeping up the pace throughout, slowing down for only a fraction then speeding things back
up again.

The only problem I can think of is the lack of diversity in the style, I was really into the first album how
it would have a breakdown with delayed guitars and even a saxophone, which just split the songs up
a bit. If there was a full albums worth of songs like this, then I think they would start to bleed into one
another. Instead it sticks to a pretty rigid formula (a very good one at that mind!) which works on such a
short release.

Overall a pretty solid record which stands out amongst the myriad of bands doing this. Out on
Deathwish go buy this now if you’re a fan of the band or screamo in general. You won’t be disappointed.
