Labels: I’m Better Than Everyone
Review by: Alex Deller
Grumbly, low-slung, sludge-streaked metal that fits in well with the likes of Black Cobra, Kylesa and High On Fire. The riffs dip between dragged-out heaviness and winding, twining elongated things that loop subtly around your neck like a noose made of fishing line while megaphonic vocals lurking somewhere between the evils of Jus Oborn and Chris Spencer howl terrible oaths. Things stumble on occasion and the sound is a bit too flat to cause any lasting damage, but this is a good enough start from a band who’ve found themselves a cosy little cave in the modern sludge wilderness and sound like they’re prepared to defend it with their lives.
