The Men - Think - 7

The Men are ostensibly a garage rock band, a style I’m not overly familiar with which seems to be enjoying a resurgence of late. What I do know is that “œThink” kicks off with some kickass riffs recorded in as lo-fi a way without losing the frenzied feel, only to be topped off with tons of crazed yelling which was quite unexpected. Pretty soon, it collapses in on itself in a clatter of feedbacking and cymbal crashes before picking itself up again to throw itself at you. So more in a stomping hardcore vein than I was expecting but that’s fine by me. They cheat on the flip by covering Devo (“œGates Of Steel”), and you can’t exactly get that wrong. This is well worth five minutes of your miserable existence.
