OK, so here’s a new Sleep Over 7″ on a weighty slab of vinyl that I’ve paid through the nose for. And there’s only one bleeding song on it. The other is a cocking remix! Anyway, I think everyone quit Sleep Over and it’s just the one lass now. Fortunately that doesn’t seem to have impaired her ability to conjure up a glorious slice of glacial dream pop. The vocals are beamed in from a geosynchronous orbit around Saturn, whilst the layered electronics bubble to the surface and burst rather satisfactorily. It doesn’t approach the untouchable “Outer Limits” but it is a pretty enjoyable effort none the less. One that would have worked out better buried amidst 12 inches and 40 minutes of blissed out shoegaze drones, but this will have to muddle you through til whenever Sleep Over decides they can do a full length.
