Caves - Collection - CD (2011)

Caves, a three-piece from Bristol, play incredibly catchy, 90s style pop-punk with a hint of indie rock and plenty of whoa-ohs. This CD compiles tracks from their OOP début 7″ (one of the best records of last year), their 4 way split 10″ (with Calvinball, Pure Graft and Big City Plan) and 2 new unreleased tracks. It’s only eight tracks, but every one is a belter. Fans of Lemuria will enjoy the melodic female vocals, but Caves also come with a rawness and energy which should appeal to those who like their pop-punk with a bit of grit. This is a great introduction, to a great band, and for those who missed the début 7″, it’s a chance to get your hands on some incredible songs.
