the Underground Railroad to Candyland - Knows Your Sins - CD (2011)

Yeah! URTC’s new record is here! For those of you who might have missed this band, this is Todd Congelliere (and others who I am too lazy to research) from F.Y.C, Toys that Kill, Stoned at Heart, #anythingthatisawesome.

If you’ve heard of anything by the aforementioned, then you know what you are in for. It’s ace. Buy it.

For those of you that haven’t heard URTC, they play super good pop-punk with an off kilter vibe
(in fact, if I was going to be a genre facist, I’d probably say they were more ‘indie rock’ than anything else, as they’re
not as aggressive as some other Congelliere associated projects).

But then, it’s quite difficult to define URTC, as the album itself flits seamlessly between pop-punk,indie and surf-rock. Basically, it sounds like an URTC record, as no matter how varied the sounds each track carries the unique and discernible songwriting of the band.

This is a really fun, quirky record and was exactly what I was hoping for from the band’s sophomore release. Check it out.
