State Song - Dear Hearts and Gentle People - CD (2011)

Labels: Phratry
Review by: Ted Reynolds

Another good cover from Phratry Records. This is good indie rock. It really reminds me of someone but I can’t work out who it is. Indie Rock sums it up really, maybe a little Sunny Day Real Estate bits, a bit Radiohead in places. Oooh, maybe an edgier Shins eh?

Oh no, I realize one of the songs reminded me a bit of Keane, maybe I should reappraise my positive view. The best thing about Keane is that the singer (or fatty Keane) had to go into the priory because he had got addicted to fine port or sherry or something. Ha! Twat.

I think I would listen to this again, it’s an enjoyable romp.
