I opened the packaging and found the CD stuck to the inlay, it took me a while to
pull the florescent orange CD off and then found because of the copious amounts
of spray paint it would not play in my stereo. Luckily I found the EP online. I also
found out that Nosav are a London three piece but a label in Naples Italy released
their EP. They were also involved in a Fugazi cover album released on the same
label. They covered merchandise it’s a pretty straight forward cover but still
worth a listen, the rest of the songs are pretty mental on this cover album as they
are Fugazi songs sung by Italians who have a small grasp on English. It’s still
pretty interesting. Anyway back to Nosav’s EP, the opening song “I Blow Your
Nose” with its beautiful and twinkly guitar but dark undertones is a great start to
the EP. It should have stayed as an instrumental, I did not see the point of a few
repetitive lines being thrown in over the top. The rest of this EP sounds like a
darker Braid and early Shudder To Think. What I did enjoy was the juxtaposition
between serious sounding music and what I hope is comedic lyrics. Overall it is a
solid EP from the Londoners.
