Arabrot - Rabbits - split - 7

Roiling pummel from both of these horrid acts, proving bad vibes can cross oceans and continents with little more purpose than souring nine minutes of your horrible, pathetic life should their whim so dictate. Rabbits do a song called ‘Yr In Luck’ which is agreeably menacing, the main riff swaying like a fucked pendulum while the singer exhorts what occasionally sounds like a blitzed-out Angry Samoans refrain through untold layers of snot, slime and coal dust. They sound infinitely better than they did on their Relapse debut, and this track makes me think I should go back and revisit that recent second LP since I didn’t exactly devote much time to it. The Ô¦rabrot track (‘Blood On Bunny’) is shorter, sharper and spikier but cut from the same shitty piece of cloth. It tumbles fuckwittedly along like something out of control and intent on doing you harm, and while I might still waiting for them to knock the crap out of me in the same way ‘I Rove’ did when I first heard it, it’s hardly a dud and more than holds its own. Good work, freaks!
