Labels: Manneken
Review by: Oli Saunders
A slow guitar up begins Yus’ second album Talisman, with quiet and barely indecipherable vocals soon joining in. Hey, this is the sort of thing I normally really go for! Steel drums then join in which I really wasn’t expecting, but they don’t disappoint. The remainder of the album meanders in the same way, with beats creating a chilled atmosphere and the vocals continuing to hover in the background. Like an amalgamation of Moby and The One AM Radio (the former more so), it doesn’t excel but is consistently good.
