Super sharp, smart punk rock from Umeå, Sweden, which deals with boredom, isolation and the general feeling that something’s not quite right. Along with classic hardcore snark and gobbets of Regulations-style snot, there’s a spiky angularity to the sound that makes me think of Wire and Pere Ubu as well, while closing track ‘We Lost Our Way’ (possibly my favourite of the five, though it’s a tough call…) has a doomed Joy Division vibe going on thanks to the morosely intoned male half of the vocal trade-off. Excellent, overall, as you’d expect from a label like Ny Våg!
