Review by: Nerida
Self styled ‘funeral doom’ metal from members of Graf Orlock and Torch Runner, released way back in 2013, this beautiful black on black sleeve holds three tracks of long trudging riffs and desperate vocals flowing effortlessly into one another. The final track ‘white halo’ which dominates the whole of the B side is definitely the stand out on this. It’s not the best record of this genre I’ve ever heard, there’s nothing that really sets them apart from other bands, but it’s a solid enough release. Even if I did spend more time reading the insert… the lyrics are poetry: ‘Bow to the birth of the drought. Conceived in the knowledge of our thirst’, beautiful.
