A six-track EP of improvised electric guitar is not perhaps something that’s likely to get Taylor Swift worrying about her record number of Twitter followers being eclipsed, but that’s entirely for the best because whilst Swift, Bieber, Drake and all those other unimaginable fuckers are happy to cleanse the arsehole of modern culture with their sanitary wipes, someone, somewhere will be making something like this for everyone else to listen to and like and love.
Upon reading the words “improvised” and “guitar” in the same sentence I was immediately expecting some atonal, Derek Bailey style, angular strangeness, but how my expectations were confounded. This is truly beautiful music, made all the more incredible by the fact it’s being created moment by moment.
