In an ideal world I would have bought and reviewed this before the LP on Static Shock came out. Typically, this did not come to pass. Anyway. While this EP and its title track might share the LP’s name, said song is not on said LP. Who can say why? The A-side has three little songs on it, all of them rippers. If you don’t know what Career Suicide are like by now then there might not be any help for you, but just in case: sharp, sneering, fast; berserk but at the same time totally in control of their actions. These three songs last all of four minutes between them, but there’re still more smarts than many would ever choose to give them credit for. The B-side is a cover of ‘Kill The Warden’ by ultra-obscure Aussie yobs Meccalissa and is three-and-a-bit minutes of absolute dynamite. Ridiculous and OTT yet leery and menacing, there’s a riff to die for and a chorus to kill someone else for. This is the record’s true golden moment … no mean feat, considering how ripping those three originals are.
