Dawnbringer - XX - 12

Review by: Alex Deller

After 20 years, five final songs from Chris Black’s Dawnbringer. Really we should weep bitter tears, but the mix of soul-murdered pathos and battle-weary triumph can’t help but fill one’s bones with a fortifying sense of joy. Unabashed and unapologetic, things surge like water slowly carving its way through stone. Gauntlets crash against dented breastplates. Ragged banners fly against a chill wind. The final trumpet sounds: those for whom Manowar, Liege Lord and Slough Feg make sense versus all the rest of you poor, pitiable fools.
