I usually find something interesting when Tiny Engines releases new music and this one here from Thelma is certainly interesting – kind of haunting and other-worldly folk led by Natasha Jacobs’ beautiful vocals which have a dreamy and, on occasion, an almost theatrical style to them. It started as a solo project but has since gone full band although it’s still quite minimal at times on the quieter moments. I don’t know why it took me so long to write about this one but it’s been a real grower for me over the last while and is every bit as grand-sounding and involving as it is unusual.
