Japanese hardcore, except it comes from Mexico. The guitars sound blunt, the vocals are an incredulous gurgle and solos spume all over the place … so far, so ‘Hang The Sucker’. Weird thing is, though, that for all the wildness of modern Mexican punk and all the wildness of vintage Japanese punk this is all a bit… muted. It’s not a bad release by any stretch but, huh, you really need to crank it up to get any sense of danger or confrontation out of the thing. Maybe on the next one?
