Labels: Holy Goat – Nerve Altar
Review by: Alex Deller
Savage and utterly bananas grindcore from Nepal, which manages to balance feral, direct delivery with blistering dynamism. The music hits you like a shattering affront; a thick, lumpy torrent of unhinged riff-sound, garbled vocals and so-raw-it’s-bleeding dissonance. A mid-point between Discordance Axis and Insect Warfare with a dollop of Endon’s outlier mania provides a rough rule of thumb approximation, but as with many Nerve Altar releases Chepang occupy a frenzied space that’s all their own. Fantastic!
