This is a reissue of an album that came out last year, but in many ways Buckshot Facelift’s heaviness reminds me of an earlier era entirely. The busy, mulched up mix of metal, grind, hardcore and powerviolence is reminiscent of late 90s acts like Black Army Jacket, C.R. and Fall Silent thanks to the semi-chaotic clatter and throw-everything-at-the-wall mentality. It’s serviceable if non-essential, though it might scratch yer itch if you find yourself feeling nostalgic for the output of Reservoir, Fetus and (very!) early Ferret Records.
