Q - SECQND - 7

Labels: Lumpy
Review by: Alex Deller

Another EP’s worth of gleefully not-quite-right hardcore from Q, which sees the band lurching unsteadily through six more oddball songs. On the face of it they play raw, rowdy, jagged-edged punk that rolls a bloodshot eye in the direction of snotty 80s classicism. Something, though, has been twisted slightly out of focus, and this leaves the songs unsteady on their feet and uncertain in terms of motive … a leery, unpredictable quality that raises Q well above the pack and yet has you looking warily over your shoulder whenever they happen to be in the same room.
