Sect’s latest effort wraps both hands around your throat and demands your immediate and undivided attention. While we might be in familiar Chris Colohan Band territory – chunky riffs, parched vocals, a withering sense of nihilism – the deadly delivery and spiteful intent send them soaring above all the bands who’ve been jocking Cursed for the past 15 years. While the band’s songwriting skills are undeniable it’s the sense of unhinged malevolence that really takes ‘Blood Of The Beasts’ over the line, making for a ferocious and unrelenting release that’s the dictionary definition of hostile.
