Double-whammy of dense, dirty, UK-flavoured crust here, with Malaysia’s Braincëll butting heads with Japan’s Zikade. At the risk of sounding like a boring old fart there’s precious little to distinguish between the two bands, with both boasting crashed-out sonics and deep, throaty, constipated vocals. If pushed I’d say Braincëll probably edge it due to sounding a tad more energetic, but truth be told I’m struggling to say more than “it’s fine” before shuffling wearily on to the next record bedecked with skulls and spikes on my teetering to-listen-to pile.
