This is just wild. In a previous review I mentioned the odd little tendencies that help set SIal apart, and on this two-track 7” they don’t so much lean on these elements as cacklingly dive headfirst into them. While the burning punk fury and boundless energy remain, ‘Zaman Edan’ sees the band embarking on a propulsive, mesmeric journey – one that involves their caustic hardcore being spun endlessly out and merged with the spacecase vibes of Hawkwind or Neu! While that might seem like an unnatural mix the band pull it off with devastating aplomb, both tracks rooting you in place with insistent, pulsing beats and wild-eyed repetition while beating you about the head until their singular vision becomes yours as well. Can we get a quadruple LP of this stuff, please?
