Ugly as hell and mean of spirit, that’s Mindless. These five tracks hulk and lurk like shadowy figures waiting to do you over in the pub car park, eager to scatter your teeth on the cracked tarmac like a dropped cup of cockles. It’s heavy stuff, wherein the influence of bands like Subzero, Madball and Cro-Mags has been viewed through the same lens as Knuckledust and Ninebar. The best track here is the seething, vituperative ‘Nightmare’, which is swiftly followed by a faithful (albeit bulked up) 4-Skins cover – the latter serving as an odd but strangely effective note to close things out on.
