This is one of Revelations new melodic-hardcore outfits. And they are darn fine. These five guys have an average age of just 15 – but you’d never know it to listen to their music. You’d think that this album was the result of years and years of practice. Numerous DIY 7 inch releases. Maybe a couple of early albums or something. Ten plus US tours to which 23 and half people turned up to. But no – this is a debut album. Having only released one previous 7 inch on Big Wheel Recreation.
So, anyway, this rocks out in ways that Andy would be disgusted by. Probably. While most of the songs on here are of the melodic-hardcore genre, there are some that see Fastbreak branch out and try something a little different. Like, the catchy pop number “Music is my Girlfriend” and “Good Dreams or None at all” which is almost certainly the best track on here. This is a rock song. Nothing more, nothing less. This makes it good!
There seem to be a lot of relationship type songs on here. All wrapped up into the rocking Revelation style sound. But the cool vocals certainly make this album distinct from other melodi-core titles. This album provides a whole bunch of awesome tunes. Both mature and eloquent, you’ll be impressed by the infectious riffs and highly polished finish.
Yes – Yes you will.
