Shit. It’s more of that slowish, relaxing, melodic, and downright pretty stuff. And there is only two songs of it. No! Not fair, not fair at all.
“Where I Lived And What I Lived For” is very much in the style of the Van Pelt, and it is done very well indeed. The sing-songy talked vocal sound is totally similar to Chris Leo. But where the beauty of this record lies is on it’s other song, “Waiting For You To Come Back From Barcelona”. This is so perfect it’s unbelievable. A splendidly dreamy, light intro, and then it picks up pace a little as the sort of pleading vocals come in. Like the Van Pelt mixed with Braid at their fluffiest. And it’s really rather long too, you keep expecting it to finish, and something else happens. So damn good.
Chris from Braid is in the band. Like you should need any dumb excuses to own this record.
