I had always thought Manitoba were pretty straight forward electronica, I’m not sure why as I hadn’t really properly checked them out! This record is like a pop Spiritualized / My Bloody Valentine with the odd electronic beat. There are massive layers of sound like My Bloody Valentine and heroin induced guitar drones but there’s a general Fridge / Fourtet feel on top of that..and it fucking works!
This has blown me away, it’s so Summer it hurts. Imagine if Xinlisupreme collaborated with Cornelius (but I don’t mean the hardcore band). I heard a bit of the upcoming full length and it sounded sublime. I cant wait.
