Spitting Teeth - Don't Believe the Hype - 7

Labels: Havoc
Review by: Andy Malcolm

When I was in 6th form I printed out a picture of Dougie Freedman celeberating a goal for Barnet that knocked Man City out of the League Cup and pinned it on the wall. Underneath it I wrote: “Do Believe the Hype”. Every time it got torn down and thrown away I printed it out and pinned it back up again. Ok, so he ended up being a reserve striker for 100 division one teams, but back then he was the bees knees (clever pun there for folks knowledgable of non-league teams nicknames).

Anyway. Spitting Teeth. This is thrash. Shit! I used to review thrash like a year ago when it was cool. Is thrash still cool? I obviously stopped reviewing it because I figured it was not so cool these days. Spitting Teeth play really fast hardcore songs that all sound the same. They play their songs with lots of energy and jump about, probably wearing shorts and maybe they even ride skateboards on stage. This makes me want to point my finger and jump around with them. It was recored inside someones arse and is pretty damn raw. It pulses with the non-stop enthusiasm that this style needs.

When you listen to hardcore you don’t give a shit if you have heard it before so long as it has sincerity, fun and passion. Yeah, I reckon these guys have that by the bucket full. If you like hardcore, you will like this 7″.
