Labels: Bombed Out Records
Review by: Mark Skold
I need to offer my sincere apologies for this review not being up sooner. To Bombed Out, who sent it for reviewing in good faith, I am sorry. And to you the avid music fan, I am sorry for not letting you in on a really cool secret until now: The Mercy Suite are excellent.
And here, with this odd-named release, we have three guys from oop naarth telling us six stories about personal development, personal destruction and pretty much everything in between. If you’re familiar Dugong, Milloy and the rest of the Bombed Out family, TMS will fit the bill rather well. Which is good, because they all rock, but bad because you know the formula pretty well already.
The tunes are all solid – sounds like screamo-ish punk rock, and there’s a bit of a “Fat Wreck” sound there too. Very good quality songs, somewhat profound lyrics and the thought that these guys would take apart your local music venue.
It’s good, emotional rock music, that you can’t resist tapping your foot to. I thank that bodes quite well, as things go. Check it out. It’s rather nice.
