Nice, chilled out, innovative indie rock. They’re obviously very talented songwriters. They have a very thick, intricate sound. Nice reverb-fueled guitars and soothing vocals. I did like the intelligent inclusion of keys and trumpets – they add so much to the band’s dynamic. Many of the songs sound very, very much influenced by THE BEATLES, especially the Sgt Pepper’s era stuff. There are also parts which remind me of bands like MOGWAI and late RADIOHEAD.
I thought it was ok, a nice record to send you to sleep maybe, but mainly through boredom.. I know for sure, loads of people who would totally lap it up though. Not exactly the kind of thing I’d personally consider gluing into my stereo…
