No More Lies - ][ - CD (2002)

Labels: BCore
Review by: Kunal Nandi

It’s pretty easy to guess what’s been spinning on the turntables at ‘Casa No More Lies’. The Fugazi / Jawbox / BlueTip influences blare through loud and clear. Perhaps what is more surprising is the fact that No More Lies are almost as good, if not better than those aforementioned bands.

Kicking off in amazing style, with a blazing riff that is both immensely catchy and scrapingly discordant, this lays down track after track of just that. This is great music that treads a fine line between melody and chaos without descending too much into either. It never gets boring, with tons of variety and a great deal of emotion in the mix. Personally, I really love this kind of DC-hardcore influenced music, but this really stood out as something special.
