Wowser! This is awesome! I have never heard XBXRX but thank god someone had the wits to send me a decent record to review for once, thank you Nova Recordings! XBXRX play that spastic no-wave punk rock like Le Shok crossed with the Locust crossed with a billion bands that I have never heard. So yeah I know 101 bands do that sort of thing, but how many of them do it this good? XBXRX do it with ludicrous keyboards and screamed vocals, a whole bunch of pace, energy and fun drilled into two sides of clear vinyl. They have one song that sounds like a poodle is yapping the vocals, but it is still insanely groovy! Dance motherfucker, dance! Woah, now side b has awesome emo break that goes on for ages then freaks out. Weirdness.

Quite ridiculous is this, though for some reason it has induced that fantastic Virgin Mega Whore song to get lodged in my head instead of XBXRX, I guess they are not so catchy. Bah. Whatever, this is a record for all those cool kids who like the bands that go “Nya Nya Nya” and wave their hands in the air. I am down with them, though when I do that dance, I look like a twat. No change there then.
