What are the kids up to these days eh? Well judging by this meaty self financed piece of 70g vinyl, quite a lot.
Hailing from Horsham in Essex, The Oedipus dish out “Beam and Solder”. A wonderful piece of math-rock which recalls such fine acts as Sweep the leg Johnny, Bob Tilton and the Monsoon Bassoon, minus the occasional over powering vocals and woodwind silliness. It also features one of the best stop start endings you will ever hear, oh yes.
Cambridge’s Too Many Zeros differ slightly. Instead of messing around with jerky time signatures, they contribute “Freeze: Colour In”, an atmospheric instrumental which rolls along with various electronic bleeps. Good stuff, I definitely want to hear more from this band.
This is what the kids are up to. Get it.
