No Substance - Teach Kids To Hate - CD (2004)

Labels: milliepeed

So yet another one I’ve had for absolutley ages wating to be given a little time to be properly absorbed, I’m sure the band has lost all hope but they should be glad as i’m enjoying this alot more now than when Andy first sent it to me I think, and the name made me think of latter day household name style ska, which is enough to fill anyone with dread. Thankfully it is a little misleading as this is top notch trashy super fast punk rawk without a trumpet or ‘wacky’ cover version in sight. The only (kind of) downside is I still can’t think of anything I CAN compare it to really, I guess it’s more in line with sort of traditional stuff but stripped right down and most of the image bullshit removed (no mohawks, woohoo!). I think it’s something loads of C kids could well enjoy if they gave it a chance or the band got on the right bills, and English too!

Aces!
