If you are the sort who is always poking around for new emo bands, then you really should check out these guys. This 7″ is 4 songs of energetic and excitable emo. First song “Dawn Flared Into” kicks around melodically with sung vocals that are strained, and grooving guitars. Its a lengthy effort (two tracks flow into one), and whilst perhaps having no incredibly standout features, its just real good. The second side maintains the same style, the two vocalists are superb, working well in tandem over the crunch. I guess I am finding it difficult to find much more to say about this 7″, but I do really like it, though I suppose things do get a bit bogged down at times when they go into the lengthy instrumental sections – mainly because the vocals are so good and I want to hear more of them. But they really do punish the emo groove when they settle into one. Ace!
I think this fits in well with current bands like Sinaloa and Life at These Speeds and Reds, if that gives you an idea. If you like those bands, hunt this down, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
