Teoria De Un Sueño Muerto - Niño Symbol Ohhh - split - CDR (2005)

Labels: self released
Review by: Domingo Astroza

My 16 year old brother bought this split from an emo show here in Santiago, Chile, last week. I was on the kitchen when the little kid started to play the CD on his room and the first thought i had was that it was some rare Makara tracks, but no, man, it was Teoria de un Sueño Muerto…damn these guys really know how to play fast, chaotic hardcore, it was bad ass! A really dark thing. Screamo kids that are fans of Makara, Syntax Transfer Theory and others like them are gonna eat this if they get to listen to them sometime, it’s too bad that the two bands only made limited hand made copies of the split, something like 50 or something. The first songs starts with a bass noise that silently tells you “this is gonna get real messy!”, then the guitar noise, and the drum sticks make the count on 4… bang!! mosh mosh mosh! it was fast, it was brutal, it was emo violence.

The TDUSM tracks finishes and you listen to a clean guitar intro, now you know that is another band playing…Niño Symbol Ohhh slowed things down a little bit, but they are a really good band too, they know how to put their deepest emotions on a 2-3 minute song, it reminds me of Danse Macabre or something like that, the voice is actually pretty cool and the guitar makes you wanna cry. It is a very deep thing. The split is a perfect combination of madness, energy and sadness. A really cool thing.
