During the long dark months that Collective was offline, I believe that the very bestest band I stumbled onto was the Marked Men. I quickly became obsessed with these guys and their brand of punk, a whirlwind of tunes and energy. This led to me to all the associated bands (Riverboat Gamblers, Potential Johns, High Tension Wires, the Reds…) and pretty quickly I had an entire subset of my record collection dominated by these bands, all masters of their genre. Anyways, enough of that piffle. This is a 4 track 7″ featuring three songs recorded way back in the mid 90s and one newer one and it’s the first release on Sandwich Man Records (run by a member of Chinese Telephones). The three oldest songs are all quickfire rather distorted and highly messy. Insecurities (a song about two people who fancy each other but don’t do anything about it) is probably the best of the three on side A. A simplistic bludgeon of a song it’s done in about 30 seconds but the catchy riff is notable. Only Time fills side B
