Say what you will about Dischord’s output over the last five years, because Antelope are a fine band that slot neatly into their current oeuvre, bringing as they do a funkily introspective kind of artcore that seems to be everywhere at the moment, all needling rhythms, minimalist melodies and a Krautrocking manner. They remind me of fellow underrated Dischordians The Warmers, although Antelope do get more upfront and shouty on more than a few occasions. At the end of the day, these are a good bunch of simple, catchy tunes.
