It took me a while to realise I had been playing this at 45 instead of 33, thus making that swingy stoner opening section of “Into The Abyss” surprisingly slow and heavy, which made the traditional eruption of crust mayhem all the more powerful. This ain’t anything you haven’t heard hundreds of times before from the likes of From Ashes Rise or Wolfbrigade, but it’s still a powerful slice of ultra-melodic d-beat with some nice doses of variety.
