Do you drink? See if you can recall the period during the evening between having that amazing idea of getting another drink and that total, horrible, inevitable disconnection between brain and body. Okkultokrati’s sound dwells somewhere in that mire. At its black heart, the Norwegian band makes motorcharged punk rock, pure and simple, but have incorporated a weird, black metally aesthetic that is exacerbated by the deranged, heavily treated vocal delivery. There’s a relentless one-dimensionality that keeps it chugging along like a punkier Coffins. Right, I’m off for a beer.
