Labels: self released
Review by: David Giles
After reviewing three shite CDs I felt like writing about something that matters. This is the second release from Leeds’ Curb Crawl. They play really fucking heavy fast/slow hardcore that reminds me a whole ton of Infest’s “Slave’ LP. The main comparison made about their first demo was that they sound like Poison Idea, which still applies to the fast parts of this more so than on their first demo. A lot of the beefier, stompier parts call to mind some of the “powerviolence’ demo tapes that have came about in the last few years, especially the Head On A Stick and Purity Control demos from 2008/2009.
Last night I saw Curb Crawl play with Coke Bust and Glasgow stomped 18 shades of piping hot fuck out of the venue to them. A couple of my mates said after the show that they enjoyed Curb Crawl more than Coke Bust too. Pretty different sounds, so I don’t know how much that takes away from or gives to either band, but hopefully it’ll give you the incentive to stop taking photos of your piss-poor Fucked Up EP collection and listen to something that actually fucking matters. Blunt, bludgeoning rage.
I genuinely can’t picture many people not liking this. One of the most fucking savage hardcore bands in the UK just now. Unjustifiably angry. Get into this or pose forever.
