This is one song on a CD. it is 3 minutes. Not the best use of resources ever. Then again, if it had arrived in my inbox it would never have been reviewed. Significant Other plays one song of alternative rock, taking some influence from post punk bands that managed to do something new with pop music. Unfortunately for Significant Other, there is a billion alternative rock bands doing exactly the same thing with big riffs and serious vocals. Interpol? Editors? Apparently the song writer in this band “fills his days observing the subversive and filling up note books with the quirks of human beings”. He could stand to download as much music as he’s not familiar with as possible, and expand his horizons beyond the run of the mill.
I guesss this isn’t bad, as it didn’t summon up any rage in my soul at all, and it’ll sound alright on the radio or down the indie disco, but it is not even close to being the kind of thing anyone who writes reviews for this website would appreciate.
