This reminds me of 2009 and driving to see pop-punk shows in Baltimore with my friends and listening to pop-punk bands like this. Most likely Transit were even one of the bands we were listening to, I’d have to ask but I wouldn’t be surprised if they were. All these sorts of bands sound so similar; if you told me this was a Man Overboard/Such Gold/Crucial Dudes release I wouldn’t think for a moment on calling your bluff. But then, if I was back in my friend’s Ford Focus drinking the rest of a large Dr. Pepper from chik-fil-a and this was put on I wouldn’t really have any complaints. To be honest, I have no real complaints now. Nostalgia makes me soft sometimes. If I were to put my critic’s hat on, I’d probably waffle on about how this sounds exactly like everything else Run For Cover have ever released, how the production’s smoothed over to the point of being featureless. But then for every shiny guitar chug there is an accompanying memory of the smell of recently eaten fast food, driving with the windows down and taking the toll road on I-95 into Baltimore city for the millionth time. So thanks to Transit for the nostalgia trip.
