Labels: IFB Records – Midwestern Decline – Otherwise Dead
Review by: Alex Deller
A bellicose dose of grind-informed hardcore that’s vengeful, venomous and much like having a broken bottle ground roughly into the side of your head. Spinning wantonly at 45rpm things are a proper mixed bag, the band touching enough bases that fans of anything from Unruh to Drainland to Neil Perry should find something toothsome to sink their fangs into, but sounding ruthlessly cohesive rather than scatty, eclectic or indecisive. The musicianship’s taut and cruelly barbed, the lung-charred female vocals are absolutely searing and the band’s ability to ease off the gas and let things open up from time to time ensures this one will linger far longer in the memory than all the rote shit that blazes past in such a hurry that simple things like songwriting get left by the side of the road.
