Formerly known as The Infarto, Scheisse!, these Italians have been playing messed up screamo hardcore for over six years now. Releases have been once every three years but whenever one has come along it hasn’t been far off top notch. They are probably one of the most underated screamo bands around, having conjured their own unique sound right from the start without really being much credit it seems, and furthermore struggling to find gigs outside their native land.
There’s something about spoken vocals in Italian… here they are frequent and urgent sounding, lying on top of the band’s chaotic sound and combined effectively with Nat’s screams. There are five songs in total, the standouts are the first songs on each side: ‘Kichtung Kreuzberg’ starts the album off perfectly whilst ‘Nessun Nome Numero Due’ recaptures the tempo at the halfway mark. The latter clocks in at six minutes, as do a number of the other songs; Infarto have never been about making things short and simple.
Overall, this is another great record from these guys and it’s beautifully packaged. There have not been many screamo albums out this year it must be said but this will end up as one of the best.
