Six tracks of crusty, doom-laden hardcore from Montreal of a type I’ve pissed and moaned a lot about of late. Being a contrary fucker I’m gonna say this is pretty ok, albeit unlikely to set anyone’s world alight if they’ve ever given the likes of From Ashes Rise, Born Dead Icons or, of course, His Hero Is Gone, even a cursory listen. The band bash about their business in agreeably rough n’ ready manner and, to be honest I think that’s why I’ve got slightly more time for them: all the fuzz and bluster is infinitely more appealing than hearing another clean-behind-the-ears ‘pro’ hardcore record that sounds like Bob Rock has done the mixing. Solid, then, and worth a squiz if your appetite’s a bottomless pit when it comes to this kind of thing.
