There is a model village near where I grew up in Bucks. I used to get dragged there as a child on school trips. It has model trains, houses, rivers and everything else you could possibly hope for in a model village. It is called Bekonscot. Why am I telling you this? Mainly because this band is called Model Village and so they have a lot to live up to if they are to emulate Bekonscot in the great battle of the real life model village versus the band called Model Village. There are 4 songs of folk-tinged indie pop here. The first song is a quite bouncy track with nice female backing vocals. The second song is a bit more upbeat. The backing singer takes over lead vocals on “œTiny Hands” and is a bit of a sadder, slow song with some brass backing. It has a slightly haunting feel. It’s a nice enough listen. However, Bekonscot has trounced them in this almighty battle “” mainly because Bekonscot model village is infinitely more dangerous. Don’t let that stop you though as if you’re in the mood for some cheery indie pop you could do a lot worse than this.
