This is a lively record that is tiding me through my lunch hour. We Ride On dish out snarly vocals over excitable guitars and lively rhythms, crashing through songs at quite a rate. As soon as it kicked in it was fairly obvious that they were going to sound a lot like Hot Snakes, both the vocals and general sound of the band are certainly pitched in that arena, which is no bad thing, it just makes it a little hard for the band to stand alone. Mind you, I couldn’t fail to appreciate the sheer energy and effort that has been poured into these songs, with the vocals being absolutely hellfire on songs like finale “West Side Highway”. We Ride On give the impression of a band that would be seriously enthralling live, where their combo of gritty punk and rampant post-hardcore would surely be best experienced. Regardless of that, this is a decent entry into the genre and is sure to find a few peoples attention.
